Boughs of Holly Catalog CASE

Boughs of Holly Catalog CASE

Hello my stamping friends.

So today’s project features the Boughs of Holly Suite and I am sharing a Catalog CASE project.  Remember, CASE can mean Copy And Selectively Edit… so if you see a card you just love the layout and design on, you can use that as your inspiration for your own project.  And if you don’t have exactly the same items, use what you have and make it your own!

Here is the catalog sample I am CASing for you today! It uses the coordinating DSP package Boughs of Holly to create both the background and the focal images of the flowers.  We add some embellishments and a spotlight shape to draw our focus to the center. And they make the sentiment pop with some heat embossing. You can see the products that the design team used for this project with this Supply List Link.

So for my project I followed the sample almost completely.  I didn’t have all gold holly leaf embellishments, so I made my own out of Gold Foil and the coordinating dies that go with the stamp set bundle. And I made this card a little bit slim… that is to say, it is 4 inches wide instead of our standard 4 ¼”.  This was to allow my DSP which is 12 x 12 to be used to make 6 cards in total.  A simple way to make our supplies go a little bit further!

Take a look at the Stampin’ Show & Tell Video Demonstration I have prepared for you, and see how easy it is to create this project.

Here is a photo breakdown of the project for quick reference.  I start with the basic parts and pieces of the project with the measurements.  Then the quick steps to prepare all the elements for the card.  Then just pull them all together and assemble.

So, that was a lot of fun.  Beautiful images and patterns in our DSP, foil and texture elements, plus my favorite heat embossing.  There were a lot of elements but enjoy the process and create a project you are really proud of.  Then best of all, send it to someone who will enjoy it as well.

As always, let me know what you think by leaving me a comment here on the blog or over on the YouTube post.  If you want to stay up to date with my projects and what is happening with Stampin’ Up! Please feel free to subscribe to my newsletter.
