Designer Tag Dies for Catalog CASE

Designer Tag Dies

For Catalog CASE Challenge

Hello my stamping friends.

Today I have a project that was inspired as a CASE THE CATALOG Challenge in my Demo Team Group.  This whole month, my Queen Bee Barb Brimhall is challenging all the BZB Team Members to daily challenges.  It is a lot of fun to share, create and be challenged to participate in fun crafting projects.

The original project comes from the  Holiday Catalog on p72 for the Celebrate with Tag Bundle.

Our challenge was either to CASE it exactly… or with the colors or the sketch idea as starting points.  I decided to try the sketch idea and keep to similar colors.

My colors for the project are: Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Basic White, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride, and Pumpkin Pie

  • Crumb Cake - cardbase

  • Sahara Sand - trimmed down for a card front, dry embossed with the Fern 3D folder. White Craft Ink was applied to the folder before embossing.

  • Basic White - die cut tags.  I used two and seamed them together to make a longer tag on my project. I tied the ribbon at the top with a White Thread.

  • Poppy Parade - the large die-cut flower.  After I die-cut the image, I used my paper snips to trim around the edge of the image to make it a stand alone embellishment instead of a tag.

  • Blushing Bride - I die-cut the two butterflies.

  • Pumpkin Pie - the small tag was die-cut with Pumpkin Pie cardstock, and then stamped on with the Craft White Ink for the sentiment. I also used my Pumpkin Pie Blend to color dye a Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon section.

So, what do you think?  Does my project look like it was a CASE of the original?  Remember, CASE means Copy And Selectively Edit.  I would love to hear your thoughts on it.  To be honest, at first, I was dreading the challenge.  Why? These are not colors I would normally go to for a project.  They work and in the end I really did like the finished project… but the whole way through the CASE I had a bit of  dread in my head that I would not like it!  Sometimes it’s good to craft outside of your comfort zone.

Happy Stampin,

Susan
