Rings of Love DSP | Catalog CASE

Hello my stamping friends.

This project was created as an example of how to CASE a catalog project. I do this often, but last month I shared some of my insight with my fellow demonstrator team. Here is the card that I CASED from the 2022 Fall Mini Catalog.

So, I first looked at the sample from the catalog and broke it down into how it was put together.

The Cardbase: 8 ½ x 5 ½, Pear Pizzazz in color and it is dry embossed.
The Focal Point: the center image which appears to be inset about an inch from each side. So that piece would be 2 ¼ x 3 ½, it has a stamped image on it.
Embellishments: there are embellishments from die-cuts positioned around the center image. Plus a few embellished dots were added as well.
Sentiment: there is a stamped sentiment on a trimmed banner piece of cardstock.
Colors: Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Foil Paper.

So, now to decide which element I want to stick with or what idea I want to base by CASE on? I decided for this case I would focus on the image of the house, centered on the card, and stick to the basic layout as well.

So from the Rings of Love DSP I trimmed out a house with my paper snips. This house led me to my colors of Starry Sky for my cardstock card base and my ink color. I dry embossed the card base with the Fern 3D embossing folder. I adhered my house first to a sample of the Rings of Love DSP for a colored background, and then mounted that to a piece of Basic White cardstock to frame it in. Finally I die-cut a small banner with the Stylish Shapes Dies and stamped HELLO from the Forever Fern stamp set.

So here is my finished project! I hope you enjoyed the process of my crafting today. Remember a sketch is just a starting point in your project. And you can look at a catalog sample and break it down into a sketch with parts and pieces.
