Sun Prints DSP | Pinwheel Pop Out Card

Sun Prints DSP with Meadows Dies | Pinwheel Card

Hello my stamping friends.

Today for the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop our theme is pop out cards!  So that’s always exciting and maybe a little bit challenging.  But as I went scrolling through PINTEREST to find a fun pop out card, I came across the PinWheel cards.  I had never made one before this project, so it was new to me.  But I’ve been wanting to make one for a couple of years.  So today is the day.

I started out looking at other blog posts and youtube videos to see how others had crafted theirs.  Then I got busy and made my own.  I decided to use the Sun Prints DSP and then embellish with the Meadows Dies.  I also used the Sending Support stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalog.

So I had so many photos from my project that I put them all together into a YouTube Short.  So not my usual Show & Tell video demonstration, but a quick review of the parts & pieces and steps I followed.  But I will say this will definitely be one of my Fun Fold Template class projects in the coming months.  Here is the video.

Oh Happy Day | Open Front Fun Fold Template

Playing In The Rain | Open Front Fun Fold

Hello my stamping friends.

Today I am sharing my second fun fold project of February.  I am crafting with the Playing In The Rain suite again, but this time with the bunny!   I think all three of these three main characters of this stamp set are really adorable.

Okay I refer to this fun fold as the Open Front Fold.  It only takes half a sheet of cardstock at 11 x 4 ¼ inches and some DSP or stamped panels to complete.  The focal section on the front is the cardstock that is removed from the front of the card, just turned sideways and put back together.  HEre are the basic measures of the project.

Now each of my monthly fun fold templates comes with a step by step video tutorial.  I refer to my video tutorials as Show & Tell.  So here is the Show & Tell Video for this project.  I will take you through the whole project from start to finish. I share the template, and then take you through the preparations for the card project. Enjoy the video.

As you can see from my video, things don’t always go as planned. Or we make mistakes, like my cutting error on the Stampin’ Trimmer when my paper slipped. But I just made an adjustment and completed the project. Please don’t feel like you have to start all over again.  Use what you have, make adjustments and as I always tell my stamping friends… “It’s your card, make it your way!”

Here is the project, both the front and the inside.  I opted to line my project with the DSP panel and then add the Basic White panel to show off the sentiment.  Also, to tuck that sentiment behind the open front flap!

Would you like to receive this template in the mail, along with a sample kit to practice one of your own?  That’s exactly what I offer in my Class In The Mail option.  Be sure to contact me if you would like to join the fun.
