Happy Thoughts with Fine Art Floral for 3rd Thurs Blog Hop

Happy Thoughts with Fine Art Floral DSP

Welcome to the 3rd Thursday BLOG HOP for January 2021.  This month we are enjoying  the new products from our Spring collection featured in the Spring Mini Catalog.  Plus it’s Sale-a-bration Time at Stampin’ Up!  So when you purchase any $50 in items, you can add a FREE product from the promotion to your cart.  It could be a stamp set, or patterned paper!

I have decided to share a BRIGHT and CHEERY card project with you this month.  Featuring the new Fine Art Floral DSP and a new stamp set Happy Thoughts.  And being that I am using our beautiful patterned paper, I want to share an easy way to create layers and use its fullest potential!

Take a look at my Stampin’ Show & Tell video tutorial, and watch as I get two layers for my card from one piece of 4 x 5 patterned paper.   Then see the full tutorial with the supply list below in this post.

Well, that was easy!  Do you agree?  And think of all the beautiful patterned paper you probably already have on hand.  You could craft one from this idea even today. Just pick our pattern, pull some coordinating cardstock for the base color and the ink to match!  Cut your layers and away you go.

Now that you have visited with me, and I hope my project may have inspired you, it’s time to send you along to the next blog with Andrea Tracy-Tucker.  Please leave me and the other paper crafters comments on our posts.  We just love to know what you think of our ideas.

Happy Thoughts with Fine Art Floral DSP Tutorial

Supplies:

Measurements:

  • Card Base 8 ½ x 5 ½ [scored at 4 ¼]
  • Patterned Paper 5 x 4
  • Sentiment Label 2 ½ x 3 ½

Instructions:

Die Cut Layer

  • Using the Stitched So Sweetly Die [largest rectangle], cut a full shape from the patterned paper, positioned in the corner.

  • Then cut a second edge from the remainder of the pattern paper.  Again, long the edge of the remaining layer.

  • Die Cut from the White Cardstock the curved Stitched So Sweetly Die for your sentiment.  Or choose a shape that words with your chosen sentiment.

Stamping

  • Stamp your greeting with Poppy Parade Ink. [coordinating to cardstock color]

  • Using the Stamparatus if you choose, ink the background stamp and stamp the image on the full of the front of your card base.

Add the Patterned Paper

  • First add the Gingham Ribbon to the full rectangular die cut.

  • Wrap and tack the ribbon across and along the back of the die cut piece.

  • Then add dimensionals to the back for mounting.

  • Slip a second piece of ribbon under the band and tie a simple bow knot.

  • Trim the ends.

  • Now add the die-cut trimmed edge to the card front first with adhesive.

  • Then add the full rectangular offset to the first.

Add the Sentiment

  • Now with dimensionals add the sentiment tag as well.
