Leaves of Holly - Floating Background

Leaves of Holly - Floating Background

Hello my stamping friends.

I have a “new to me” technique to share with you today, a Floating Background element!  The idea is to add an element that seems like it is floating above the rest of the background.   I accomplished this task with a vellum layer, but you could use a clear plastic sheet as well.

Check out the Stampin’ Show & Tell I have for you.  It’s quick and simple, and you will see how easy it is for you to do this too!

Here are the supplies I used for this project, remember, you can substitute your own items from your own collection.  But if you really like something I used, and you have to have it… please place an order with me to support my sharing of projects with you.

Here are some project tips to get you started on CASE-ing this idea and layout.

Prepare all the pieces of your project before you begin.  This allows you to coordinate your colors for both ink, designer series paper, and cardstock.

Then prepare the layered elements.

Here a detailed look at creating the floating element.

Okay, so I think this is a really cool way to embellish a project.  And it really is not very difficult.  Give it a try and let me know what you think! Leave me a comment, ask a question or subscribe to my newsletter to see more of my projects.

Don’t forget, my Fun Folds Class in Mail offering starts in November.  You can still sign up  to start with us from the beginning.  Each month is a different set of fun fold cards and you can join us for one month, or subscribe for multiple months. Here is the link for more information on that!

Thanks for visiting my project today.

Happy Stampin,

Susan
