Monogram Note Cards | 3rd Thursday Blog Hop Dec 2020

Welcome to the 3rd Thursday Blog Hop for December 2020.  This month we are focusing on LAST MINUTE paper crafting projects.  Not that any of us are in need of such a thing! But if you are looking for a LAST MINUTE LUCY gift idea, I have a Monogram Note Card project that might just fit your needs.

After  you see my idea, be sure to leave me a comment. Then hop on along to the next crafter who has another fun idea for you.  And remember, paper crafting isn’t reserved for just the holidays… you could easily transform our ideas into birthday gifts as well.  Just change the theme and away you go!

MONOGRAM NOTE CARDS

So these are to be a quick and easy paper crafting project that you could duplicate for multiple gifts! We start with a note card. You could use pre-packaged plain notecards, or cut your own from patterned paper like I did here.

A note card is sized at 5 ½ x 3 ½ when scored and folded.

I decided to make a bunch of winter themed cards for myself as the sample.  I can now use them as Thank You cards after the holiday.  I decided to use the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper as my decorative cover.  I cut them to size and then lined the inside with a plain piece of cardstock that measures just slightly smaller than the card itself (3 ¼ x 4 ¾).

To be able to do multiples of these, I used my Stamparatus Tool and the stamp set Make A Difference.  But by taking the time to set up the letters on the clear arms of the Stamparatus, I was able to stamp repeated items without worry of positioning.  To get the letters close enough, I stamped the “W'' first,  then the “s” and “m” second.  They cannot all be positioned this closely on a clear block.  So either two blocks and a really steady hand, or use the stampartus for perfect positioning each time.

    Stamparatus Set Up

  1. Use one arm of the Stamparatus for the Center Capital Letter

    • Position the Last Name letter on the grid paper.

    • Then press the arm of the stampartus down to attach it.

    • Be sure it is square with the grid lines for straight positioning of your letters.

  2. Use the second arm for the two Side Letters

    • Then position the two side letters onto the grid paper.

    • Press the second arm to attach them.

  3. Ink and stamp all the letters to check your positioning.

  4. Adjust if necessary.

    Stamp your Monogram

  1. Position the card front on your grid paper, so that the Monogram will stamp where you want it to be.

  2. You may want to fold the note card in half.

  3. If you prefer to do the punched out monogram.  Stamp on a scrap piece of cardstock, then die-cut or punch with a paper punch.  Attach to card.
