Iconic Dies | Fancy Fold

Hello my stamping friends.

Are you ready for some “FANCY FOLD” card inspiration today?  I hope so, because I am sure my fellow stampers are ready to inspire you today in the monthly blog hop!

My project was a bit of a crafty inspiration to myself today.  I really like to make projects with closures on them, to hold the folded sections together.  But they are not always the easiest to create.  So in experimenting with my bits and pieces of cardstock, I came up with my closer for today.  

This one actually turned out to be kinda easy, but it took some real thinking power.  Basically I create the folding “latch” from a strip of cardstock that gets adhered to the inside of the card along the open edge.  Then tucked behind the sentiment label on the front. The sentiment tag is only adhered on the back of the left side, to allow for the “latch” to slide behind it.

Project Instructions:

  1. Prepare your cardstock, designer series paper and embellishment elements, as shown here in these photos.

  1. Now start adhering your designer series paper to your card sections.

    1. The 4 x 3 ¾ DSP goes on the front.

    2. The 4 x 3 ¾ Basic White layer is for the inside

    3. The 4 x ¾ DSP strip gets layered onto the “latch” cardstock

    4. The 4 x 1 ½ DSP will be added after you adhere the “latch to the inside of the card base

  1. Now stamp your sentiment onto the Stitched So Sweetly Die.  Then add to the front of the card with 2 dimensionals on the back of the left side only.  The “latch is going to slide under this section.

  1. Now create the focal embellishment for the front of your card with the Iconic Dies images.
