You Are Wonderful | Stamping with Large Sentiments

You Are Wonderful | Stamping with Large Sentiments | #MCC28

It’s Monday so it’s time to kick-off this week’s Mystery CASE Challenge. This week our theme is to stamp with LARGE SENTIMENTS! Yes, I know some of you love them, some of you hate them! But let’s stamp with them and see what we can create.

Today I let the sentiments really be the focal point of the project. I featured the Rooted In Nature stamp set. I enjoy stamping with all the images, but I really have always enjoyed the larger sentiments. [THINKING OF YOU] and [YOU ARE WONDERFUL] Watch the Stampin’ Show & Tell Video Demonstration as I construct the card.

Stampin’ Show & Tell – You Are Wonderful | Stamping with Large Sentiments

So you can see it really is a simple stamping project. I picked a piece of the Plaid Tidings DSP [patterned paper], and the coordinating colors of cardstock and ink.

Keeping it to Rich Razzleberry, Purple Posy, and Whisper White, so that all the colors worked together seamlessly. I stamped with the Rich Razzleberry Ink, but did some stamping off on the leaf images to lighten the color.

The sentiment tag was die-cut from the Tasteful Labels Dies collection. I love the way it is not only curvy cut, but also has a beveled embossed decorative edge as well.

Materials & Measures:

  • Rich Razzleberry Cardstock – 8 1/2 x 5 1/2

  • Purple Posy Cardstock – 1 7/8 x 5

  • Plaid Tidings DSP – 1 7/8 x 5

  • Whisper White Cardstock – 3 3/4 x 5

  • Purple Posy Cardstock – sized to fit the die-cut for the sentiment of choice

  • Whisper White Envelope

Sunshine Blossoms In Bloom

Sunshine Blossoms In Bloom | CTS396 | #MCC28

Welcome to Tuesday stampers. So today I am sharing a project I originally crafted a few weeks ago. The challenge from the CASE THIS SKETCH Blog was to use a LARGE SENTIMENT. So I couldn’t resist playing along, as it was going to be the theme for this week’s Mystery CASE Challenge. I hope you enjoy the project. It was so bright and cheery! Something we all need a bit more of these days.

Hey there stamping friends, if you are new here to the Stampin’ Show & Tell Blog WELCOME! I’m so glad you popped over to take a closer look at this project. I typically share a new project Monday through Friday, and have a weekly Mystery CASE Challenge theme we focus on as well. Here is today’s project.

This card project was inspired by the CAS(E) This Sketch blog challenge #396. As soon as I saw the image of the sketch I knew I had to pull out my newest stamp set Ridiculously Awesome and use one of its large sentiments!

Let’s look at the sketch and then take a look at my Stampin’ Show & Tell Video Demonstration. Remember, you can always visit the CASE THIS SKETCH blog directly from this link or the sketch links back to their post as well.

Watch as I take you through this quick and #simplestamping project from start to finish. You will see just how easy it is to craft.

#Simplestamping Card! Yes, this definitely qualifies as a SIP [stamps, ink, paper] card. It’s one layer of cardstock and no fancy embellishments. I don’t think this project really needs anything added. But remember, when you make your own version, do as you wish!

“It’s your card, make it your way!”

Why did I use the Stamparatus? I pulled out the Stamparatus for this project, since the blooms image was very large and I wanted to be sure to get a nice clear image. With the Stamparatus, if needed, you can always repeat your stamping before you take up your cardstock. Plus, I can always create duplicate cards quick and easy with the image all set up to just stamp, stamp, stamp!

Thank You Project | JOS November BLOG HOP

Thank You | JOS November BLOG HOP

A simple “thank you” can spread so much appreciation, joy, and recognition. I often say thank you to my grocery store clerk, bank teller, post office clerk. But maybe I don’t say thank you enough to my friends, family, and followers. When we don’t see each other face-to-face I think it might just slip away a bit. But, it’s so important!

Today the Joy of Sets crafters are all sharing projects focused on saying “Thanks”. I hope you enjoy my project and all the others. Remember, we all love that you visit our blogs, please leave us comments to let us know our projects inspire you.

Here is my project for today. It’s not your typical sized card for the States, but it will fit in our standard sized envelope. This card measures 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches. It didn’t start out this way though. But when I crafted the front panel with this embellishment, it just felt like too much space around the focal point. So I trimmed it all down to be a square card. Remember, there are no rules in paper crafting. Just craft the way it makes you happy! I tell my stamping friends…

“It’s your card, make it your way!”

Project Breakdown

As you see, I chose to use the Country Home stamp set for my project today. I also used the coordinating embossing folder, Tin Tile to create a textured background to host the main embellishment.

Here is a look at the front and inside together. You can see that I used a bit of the trimmed off original front embossed panel to embellish the inside. No reason to let it go to waste! I also stamped the flowers again on the inside to fill the space. The flowers were stamped with Blushing Bride and the sentiment with Rococo Rose.

Time for a CLOSE UP look at the focal image on the front of the card.

To start I stamped with my Memento Ink. Then I colored with my BLEND markers. [Soft Seafoam, Crumb Cake and Rococo Rose] Then I used my paper snips and trimmed it all out! But if you look carefully, you may notice that the edges where I did the fuzzy cutting are not white. I used my Blushing Bride marker to color all the white space around the edges and between the images where I could not trim with my paper snips. I wanted it to all blend into the background embossed panel.

Now take a look at the pitcher image. First,I stamped it on the Blushing Bride panel before I embossed it. Then stamped it again on Rococo Rose and trimmed it out, eliminating the handle. Finally, when it all got added to the image, the handle from the image below completes it again.

Well, that wraps up my project. I hope my tips and tricks of paper crafting help you in your own projects. Or maybe you were inspired to try something new. I would love to have you leave me a comment, and let me know what you think!

Project Tutorial

Materials & Measures:

  • Garden Green - 5 ½ x 8 ½

  • Garden Green - 5 ¼ x 4 [die cut 3 scalloped circles from center before using a mount]

  • Very Vanilla - 5 x 3 3 /4 [front panel]

  • Toile Tidings DSP - 4 x 6

  • Very Vanilla - 5 x 3 ¾ [inside panel]

Card Instructions:

TOILE TIDINGS CIRCLES - Select the smaller image from your patterned paper first.  Die-cut with a smaller circle.  Then with the largest circle die-cut the coordinating image from your patterned paper.   BE SURE to position your selections so you can get both images die-cut from the same panel.

SCALLOPED CIRCLES - From the Garden  Green 5 ¼ x 4 piece of cardstock.  Die-cut the two coordinating scalloped circles from  the set.  Be sure to cut from the center, so the edges will be un-cut for this piece to be used as another layer on the card face.

SENTIMENT - Stamp the sentiment on the Very Vanilla Cardstock near the bottom and off to the left.  This will help balance the placement of the images.

Create the front of  your card

  • Start by layering the Very Vanilla panel to the Garden Green panel.  Then add to the face of the card.

  • Now layer the die-cut circles to the die-cut scalloped circles with adhesive.

  • Use dimensionals to add both of those layered circles to the Very Vanilla panel.

  • Remember you are piecing the two circles back together.  So they should overlap slightly.

  • Use the second Very Vanilla panel to line the inside of your card.
