Poppy Moments Dies for Die Cutting Technique

Inkspirations Blog Hop March 2023

Hello my stamping friends.

This month our challenge for the Inkspirations Blog Hop was die-cutting! There are lots of ways to use die-cuts, whether they are tags for sentiments or used to create the focal image.  Sometimes we even use them to create the background on our projects.

Being near the end of the catalog, I decided I wanted to use a set of dies that I haven’t pulled out in a while, and that led me to my Poppy Moments Dies.  I also wanted to stamp a bright card so I immediately thought of the Hues of Happiness DSP with all its bright colors.

So, my poppy dies were created by die-cutting the DSP with the flower dies, and then layering them to create detailed die images for my focal point. The leaves were die-cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock.  

For a die-cut background I used the Stitched with Whimsy Dies, two nested images behind the floral focal point.

Finally the tag for the sentiment was die-cut from the Scalloped Contours Dies.  Stamped a sentiment from the Special Moments stamp set (which I then discovered is retired already), but I like the sentiment.  And I die-cut the flower centers out of Basic Black for a little more detail.
